After much speculation (mostly just by me) the truth on
Jared Goedert has come out! JG has been sidelined with an oblique strain and will stay on the shelf for another 2 weeks. A shame that he will not have the opportunity to compete for the opening day roster, but at least there is a reason that he is not playing. Several on the inside still see Goedert as an corner utility option with right-handed power off of the bench,
Also, the Indians deal with
Nick Johnson is officially done. It's a minor league package for Johnson, as he continues to rehab his wrist. If Nick is healthy and gets added to the 40-man this year, the Tribe will have a $2.75mil option for 2012.
